But then, you remember that it's not really funny. It's just plain terrible. And the laughter you were experiencing morphs into a sigh.
Ultimately, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You start ruminating about the nature of it all. Was this a joke?
Or were we just all part of a grand, cosmic prank?
A Disaster of Epic Proportions
The tsunami struck suddenly, consuming entire cities in its path. Buildings shattered like fragile toys, and the roar that followed was deafening. It all started out badly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then everything went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
